Alternatively, ascend with your vehicle to the 13th century monastery built on top of a green hill above Paleokastritsa, explore the remarkable Byzantine collection.
In continuation we head off to Achillion palace. It was commissioned by Empress Sisi of Austria, is known as one of the must-see spots on the island of Corfu. Explore the palace’s gardens and statues that have exalted the palace to a place of historical glory

We start the culinary experience with a typical Greek brunch in a local bakery in the heart of Corfu Town! Taste the most delicious, freshly-baked Greek pastries including the irresistible Spanakopita (Spinach pie), Tiropita (Greek cheese pie with phyllo) or sweet pie dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon the so-called ”bougatsa” accompanied by a glass of refreshing Ginger Beer, Tsitsimpira, which was introduced by the British in the 19th century and has become a locals’ favorite. Then, we stroll around the atmospheric Kantounia – Corfu’s cobbled streets and listen to your local guide telling the history of this amazing city, while sharing interesting local stories.

We continue up to reach to Kanoni area to enjoy the amazing views of the church of Vlacherna and Mouse Island which is considered the most instagrammable landmark in the island. It is also very usual to see an airplane landing and taking off from this spot, as the airport of Corfu is right next to the church.
At the end we head off to Corfu Town for a guided tour passing by the most emblematic buildings and statues of the Old Town.

On the Durrell Island Tour we will see the first house they lived in, known as the Strawberry Pink Villa. We will also visit the home of their taxi driver and priceless friend Spiros “The American” Chalikiopoulos, in Kanoni, and retrace the steps taken by the young Gerald and his mentor Theodore Stefanides around Chalikiopoulos lagoon. It was these first steps around the shores and in the eternal olive groves of Corfu, which made him to become one of the world’s greatest naturalists, writers and first conservationists.
We head off to Annemoyani Villa also known as Daffodil Yellow Villa still holds this haunting feeling of the past. As this three-floor Venetian mansion, with it’s tall walls, it’s wide verandah and overgrown garden have remained unchanged since the days of the Durrells.
We also visit the hoouse that Lawrence and Nancy lived in for three years, the world famous White House in Kalami, on the Northeast coast of Corfu. At the end we drie down to Danilla Village where most of the series was filmed.

Then we head to the oldest kumquat liqueur distillery in Corfu. This is where we learn all about these citrus fruits. There, we also have a tasting of local products and time for shopping.
After we visit one of the most beautiful seaside village of Corfu – Palaiokastritsa. It is known for its caves. So you can join a cruise on small motorboats (extra fees) or, alternatively, go for a walk or sunbathing, we head north along winding roads among olive groves.
We pass through the village of Lakones up to reach to one of the most famous viewpoints on the island Bella Vista which is referred to as “the most beautiful balcony on the Ionian Sea” where we have break for coffe and local desserts.

The Museum of Asian Arts in Corfu is the only museum of this kind in Greece. It is housed in an imposing neoclassical building near Liston promenade, Espianada square, in the Palace of Saint Michael and Saint George. This building was constructed between 1819 and 1824 by the British and initially served as the residence of the British High Commissioners of the Ionian Islands. It is dedicated to the Art of Asia, it has collections of Chinese Art, Japanese Art, Indian Art and others.
Created by an initial large private collection, the museum is a treasure of Asian Art and also records the interrelations of Greece with Far East, what is known for the Greco-Buddhist Art, that is Buddhist Art that was influenced by the conquests of Alexander The Great, that reached up to Pakistan and India.

Findings from the Prehistoric era and findings from the 7th and 6th century B.C. with the exceptional Menecrates lion, clay pottery and terracotta statuetts from shrines of Corfu and the impressive Gorgon Meduse, a pediment from the great temple of Artemis, made in 585 B.C., the oldest so far, the impressive stone pediment of an ancient Greek temple (500 B.C.) of Dionysus and exhibits from the 4th century B.C. to the Roman period.
Many findings from the ancient town of Paleopolis and its agora, harbors, houses, sanctuaries, workshops and cemetery. There are also finds from other parts of the island in the North.

The local guide will take you from the Boschetto Gardes where are bronze busts of both Gerald and Lawrence, to the Old Fortress’s moat where are scenes of the family’s arrival in Corfu had been filmed. Also, St. George’s Palace being used as a bank for one scene, the moat of the old fortress served as a port of the arrival of the family, the neighborhood of Tenedos where a full local market was set up for the series’ needs.
Strolling around the oldest neighborhood of Campiello such as the Kokkini’s arch, the Venetian well, the town hall square is a great opportunity to see many of the sights and find out about both their history and the part they played in the filming.

We depart for Kanoni, a beaty spot situated three kilometers south from Corfu Town center. Here we will stop to have a drink and admire the lovely views and take pictures of the famous Mouse Island & the small islet with the nunnery of The Holy Virgin of Vlacherna.
Afterwards, we continue to Mon Repos where we will reach the palace. The palace was built by the second British Lord High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands, Sir Frederic Adam in 1828. It was used as the summer residence of the High Commissioners. The Duke of Endiburg, Prince Philip, the British Queen’s husband, was born (1921) and baptized here. After the visit participants will be driven to Corfu Town, which is a member of the World Heritage List “UNESCO” to enjoy a guided walk around the picturesque “kandounia”, the old narrow Venetian streets.
